Arathandra “Andra” Goldbrook
Andra and her ancestors have protected the High Forest all the way back to the days of Aryvandaar, the ancient sun elven kingdom which ruled those lands before the Crown Wars. Andra is the latest in a long and proud line of druids, rangers, and other defenders who safeguard the great wood from poachers, woodcutters, and demons. They make their homes near what remains of Myth Glaurach, an ancient city built atop the remains of an even older elven city.
Andra has always been fascinated—and a little horrified—by her people’s history and the dangerous high magic they once wielded. She has been assured repeatedly by the elders that the kind of high magic which destroyed the neighboring kingdom of Miyeritar is no longer possible due to changes in the Weave in the millennia since. Even the powers accessible to the druids and rangers themselves have changed over time, owing to changes within the great primordial beings whose power on Toril predates that of even the elven gods.
Despite their longevity, the elves of Myth Glaurach seem to have forgotten a great deal of their history. Increasingly isolating themselves from the encroachment of the Uthgardt tribes and the clans of moon and wood elves who also call the great forest their home, Andra believes they are in danger of dying out entirely: she is the first child born to the clan in over two hundred years, and there have been no others since. While she appreciates the value of tradition, perhaps what Myth Glaurach needs to thrive once more are new ideas, or perhaps some very old ones.
Traits
“I never spent much time around any of the other races, so I have little idea how to interact with them. I am very well-read, however, so I will simply offer what I know.”
Ideals
“Nature exists in balance and that balance must be protected, and if necessary, guided by the hands of those who possess superior knowledge and wisdom.”
Bonds
“I grew up in an enclave of other sun elves protecting an ancient elven city in the High Forest, and I consider it my duty to find new ways to help my people in their sworn task.”
Flaws
“It’s such a pity all other races are inferior to my own.”
“I Know a Guy”
Two days after she left the High Forest, Andra met and traveled the rest of the way to Waterdeep with a Rashemi witch named Imarel and her berserker companion Serzhei. The witch had some surprising insights, for a human, and the berserker’s enthusiasm for their adventure was somewhat adorable, like an eager young wolf cub. They parted ways just inside Waterdeep’s gates, but Imarel indicated they would be in the area for some time.
Friends & Enemies
Not long after entering Waterdeep, Andra inadvertently insulted a brash young man who turned out to be a member of a wealthy noble family.
