Melora Dewbrook
When Melora was a child, the elven city of Evereska was isolated from most of Faerûn by a veil of perpetual fog and rain, and its population had been decimated by two back-to-back invasions. When the barrier between Evereska and the Feywild thinned, Melora’s mother Emariel stumbled into the gloom-shrouded city, spent several days exploring its overgrown gardens and numerous abandoned buildings, and then finally surrendered to the Vale Guard after nearly being killed by a crazed shield guardian.
Emariel soon fell in love with a Vale Guard soldier named Selaren Dewbrook, and to the happy couple’s surprise, they were blessed with their first child within a year of their courtship. Melora was the first child born to the ravaged Evereska, and her birth was hailed as a sign of good fortune. Instead, the opposite seemed to happen, with many of the city’s half-elves becoming wary of the Feywild encroachment and abandoning Evereska for the human cities of the Western Heartlands and Sword Coast North. Still, the pragmatic elves carried on, and nearly a century later, their dedication to the preservation of their city was rewarded: thousands of elven refugees were forced to flee the ruins of Myth Drannor to the east and were welcomed warmly into Evereska.
The expectations heaped on Melora as the first of a new generation of Evereskan elves abruptly dissipated with the arrival of the new settlers. Taking this as a sign that she could finally do what she had always dreamed, Melora quietly slipped out of Evereska so she could explore Faerûn.

“The world is too vast and wonderful to spend one’s whole life in a single small corner of it.”

Melora’s father Selaren was promoted to the ranks of the Cold Hand, the elite warriors commanded directly by High Lord Duirsar, while her mother Emariel is both warrior and priestess. While neither is likely to leave Evereska, should Melora find herself near her home once again, the pair are mighty allies indeed.
Friends & Enemies
Melora slipped out of Evereska unnoticed by stepping through an ancient portal hidden behind a waterfall, emerging in a tumbled-down ruin in the southern reaches of the Glimmerwood. Unfamiliar with how to navigate by starlight—Evereska was perpetually covered in clouds—she wandered for two days before she was rescued by a pair of elven scouts—Alathrien Starwillow and Endarios Meadowbreeze—and escorted to Silverymoon.
