Lorifae Nasadra
Lorifae was born to Bran’neith—youngest daughter of the first house of Ched Nasad—on the day the city collapsed, but mother and infant were able to take shelter until the worst of the destruction had passed before escaping the ruins into the Underdark. With most of the city dead or scattered, Bran’neith had to find her way alone through the tunnels.
Fortunately, they were soon found by a Silverhair Knight, a priestess of Eilistraee who had been posing as a Lolthian cleric in the city for many years, and the follower of the Moondancer guided the new mother safely through many miles of treacherous passageways until they reached a hidden shrine containing a portal, and then again through many more tunnels to another, and then a third. Finally, they reached the Eilistraean enclave in the forests of Cormanthor. Though Bran’neith never felt truly comfortable under the open sky, Lorifae loved venturing out under the stars to dance with the followers of the Dark Maiden.
When word reached the enclave that the avatar of the reborn Eilistraee was spotted dancing in the moonlight near Waterdeep, Bran’neith—now a priestess of Eilistraee—Lorifae, and many other followers began to make their way to that distant coastal city. Their goal was to create a new surface sanctuary for their people, but Lorifae had her doubts about the success of the venture: she had previously attempted to visit non-drow towns and villages in Cormanthor to listen to and learn new music, but was met with open hostility.
She was surprised indeed when the drow troupe were granted permission to establish the Dancing Haven in Waterdeep’s Field Ward outside the city walls, though they soon had to change their plans and instead take advantage of an abandoned building in the North Ward. Lorifae still gets a cold shoulder when she ventures into the city proper, and while she has her doubts that the situation will ever change, the lure of new music cannot be denied.
Traits
“I constantly find myself torn between my desire to be around other people and my fear of rejection. There’s little I love more than to dance to a lively tune.”
Ideals
“I long to be recognized for my talents, not my heritage.”
Bonds
“The Dancing Haven is my hope for the future of my people.”
Flaws
“Despite how often it happens, I don’t handle rejection well.”
“I Know a Guy”
Lorifae’s mother is a priestess of Eilistraee as well as a wizard. After helping establish the Dancing Haven, Bran’neith moved on to help cleanse and restore the church’s head temple in Undermountain, the Promenade of the Dark Maiden.
Friends & Enemies
The drow presence inside the walls of Waterdeep has been met with a chilly reception, though the Eilistraeans have been welcomed publicly by Open Lord Laeral Silverhand and a few other prominent citizens.
