Casindra “Casi” Naïlo
Hobgoblins have plagued Secomber for over two decades, demanding tribute in order to spare the town from destruction. Mercenaries hired to end the threat never return and attempts made to rout the tribe and their worgs have always resulted in the return of the hobgoblins to the town walls, demanding ever more from the peaceful villagers.
Five years ago, Casindra’s father Eoric left to gather his kin in the High Forest to come to Secomber’s aid. Two years later, her mother Nadalia followed after to try to do the same. Last year, Casindra was searching the ruins of old Hastarl for edible mushrooms when the ground gave way beneath her and she fell into a deep hole. When she came to, she found she was inside an ancient shrine to the Seelie Court. After searching in vain for a way out of the pit, Casindra knelt before the shrine and prayed for help, seeking the strength to find her way out of the ancient ruin as well as to rid her people of the hobgoblin menace. Titania heard her plea and answered, granting power to the young half-elf. As a sign of the bond, Casi’s left eye turned from blue to green.
Casindra’s first attempt to use her new abilities against the hobgoblins didn’t go well, and a friendly pixie suggested maybe she ought to learn how to use the Fairy Queen’s granted powers, first.
Traits
“I would have been content with the pastoral life save for the evil creatures who threaten my home. I value time alone with my tools and my thoughts almost as much as I do time spent with friends.”
Ideals
“No one who desires peace deserves to live in constant fear of attack.”
Bonds
“I worry about what has happened to my parents, but my village needs me more than I need to find them.”
Flaws
“I’d never dreamed of being an adventurer. What if I’m not cut out for this life?”
“I Know a Guy”
The fey creatures of the world are able to sense the connection Casi has with the Queen of Summer, so she is seldom surprised to find her camp being visited by a mischievous sprite, brownie, or dobie. She quickly found that many of them would happily do some small service for her if she simply offered them a small gift while asking nothing in return.
Friends & Enemies
Of course, the benevolent fey aren’t the only ones who can feel the power of the archfey emanating from Casi: she’s had a few scary run-ins with boggarts, spriggans, brambles, and other horrors she didn’t stick around long enough to identify.
