Alasen was found abandoned in Neverwinter as an infant and given by a city watchman to a woman named Rohini to take to the nearby town of Helm’s Hold. With Rohini claiming a vision that the dead god Helm would soon return, Alasen was given the surname Helmborne to reflect the good tidings. She was then raised in the Cathedral of Helm as an acolyte in the faith’s tradition.

When Rohini was discovered to have been a succubus only posing as a human to gain access to the many spellscarred individuals who lived in the town or were imprisoned in the Cathedral’s asylum, suspicion also fell on young Alasen, though of course she had not been raised by the succubus.

Alasen dedicated her life to service to Helm and to the eradication of fiends like the one whose blood she shares. As soon as she was old enough, she pledged loyalty to the fanatical Order of the Gilded Eye.

The Order believes that there are cults of demon & devil worshippers active within Waterdeep, and Alasen is but one of their members dispatched to verify these claims.

Alasen is part of the Order of the Gilded Eye and can call upon other members to come to her aid, especially if she has reason to believe a fight is coming against a devil or demon.

Friends & Enemies

Though they perhaps don’t know her, Alasen names two devils as her most-hated enemies who she would dearly love to permanently kill from within their homes in the Nine Hells: the succubus Rohini and the pit fiend Baelrath. She has good reason to believe the latter is her devilish ancestor.
